Mystical Landscapes: From Vincent van Gogh to Emily Carr Details

Review "Nothing rivals a serene, calming landscape, especially when it's the focus of a gorgeous work of art. This volume effortlessly brings together a wide range of mystical landscapes created by well-known artists in Europe, Scandinavia, and North America from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, all of which-beyond lush trees and the swelling waterways-manage to shine through the spiritual crises and disillusionment of the modern age. There's much more depth to creating a landscape than you previously imagined." -Interview Magazine "This unusual approach to a subject that has as much of an impact upon the present as it had on the past is elegantly produced with excellent reproductions and contributions from a wide array of authorities in the field." -Paula Frosch, Library Journal Read more About the Author Katharine Lochnan is Senior Curator, International Exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Visited the Art Gallery of Ontario last Feb 2017 during a special showing of Van Gough. They were out of the Catalog and awaiting new stock. Amazon to the rescue. Found it on line and pre ordered it here in the USA without all the Canada to USA shipment and additional costs. It's a handsome tome with the entire contents of the exhibit so we can enjoy it over and over again; incl Starry Night.
