Reviews
This book beautifully presents a wide range of amazing, unique and compelling artwork, mostly paintings done with acrylic on canvas or linen, but some composite works on plexiglass and other media. Mr. de Plas had a complex and subtle vision that he expressed with obvious passion and dynamism. I did not know him, but I was hired to photograph the artworks for production of this book. In the process of photographing nearly his entire body of work, I and my assistants were utterly smitten. We got to know the works quite well, and the publisher did a terrific job with the layout of the book and unusually accurate reproduction of the intense and subtle tones and colors of the works. My hat's off to them. This book does a beautiful job of presenting a really fascinating body of work by a painter whose career was cut short far too soon.
